A New Era of Maternal Care with Hoag’s Bold Expansion
Hoag’s mission to redefine maternal care is advancing through the Boldly Hoag campaign, with a new women’s specialty hospital currently being built on the Sun Family Campus in Irvine. Building on the foundation of the Fudge Family Birthing Suites, which opened in Irvine in 2020, these new spaces will uphold the value of personalized, family-centered care. The project will expand on the serene environment and midwifery model, which empowers mothers through shared decision-making and has already set a high standard for care.
With the community’s growing needs in mind, the new birthing suites on the Sun Family Campus will dramatically increase capacity, enabling up to 5,500 deliveries annually. These state-of-the-art spaces will include 24 LDRP rooms, 21 Antepartum/Postpartum rooms and 17 NICU beds. When the new hospital becomes fully operational, Hoag expects to welcome more than 200 additional nurses to join its highly trained team, ensuring each family receives compassionate, cutting-edge care.
Crucially, the new facilities will be equipped to handle every type of pregnancy, from routine deliveries to complex, high-risk cases. With expanded resources, specialized teams, and advanced technology, families in Irvine will receive expert treatment and support for their unique needs. This project underscores Hoag’s commitment to providing the highest level of care for mothers and newborns, ensuring families have access to the best possible outcomes close to home.
